Love at the time of cholera

One should not "love" but Be in a sensitive space in which all problems, worries, disagreements may enter without lingering.

It is not always simple: daily life often risks crushing even the noblest of feelings. Digital sociality, which is not very social, takes depth away from everything. Pleasure, pain, enthusiasm, a whole range of feelings are condensed and crushed in an emoticon. Love is not a feeling based on an idea or a model.

It should not be an ideal, however high, but it should be a profound space rooted in the present. You should not love someone because it is convenient to do so, or because it is frightening to feel alone, or because it is cool to post photos together on Instagram so that others will know or because there is the "need" to love in the broadest sense of the word. In reality, one should not "love" but Be in a sensitive space in which all problems, worries, disagreements may enter without lingering. A space that must be protected, day by day, moment by moment. A space where a glance is enough, a slight touch or just the scent of the other's skin is enough to get lost and dive into an eternal time. A space where Everything disappears and Everything is present, in which we are born and die in a flutter of wings, and you know without a need for words that it is worth living just for that ephemeral moment.
