"Who looks outside dreams, who looks inside awakes" - Marco M.

Who looks outside dreams; who looks inside awakes

Carl Jung

This phrase is so incisive, as well as absolutely true, that we decided to adopt it and give it a space somewhere here at Cascina Bellaria before the summer.

Those who look outside are those who believe their life is moved by external events. They are the unwitting prisoners of the Platonic cave, the ones who are unknowingly coaxed by the illusory veils of Maya.

They "hope" because they believe that destiny is guided by forces outside them. They're full of resentment because they blame someone or something for their suffering. The fear of death devours them because they're unable to understand the meaning of eternity.

Those who turn inward, on the other hand, wake up, become aware of the responsibility with respect to their life and discover the infinite power they have over their world.

The awakening is most of the time slow: every day you see details that had escaped you before, you discover still unexplored potential. Discovery, however, is part of the wonder of life, so it is better to cultivate patience to prolong the pleasure of the journey and not miss even the smallest detail.
